Hak Heang Restaurant: Reviews & Ratings
This is my first ever Cambodian food experience, it's really great. The service & the people there were nice and polite. The food was great because I love seafood, my favorite was the fried chicken.
Good: - huge a la carte portions - flavors are on point - enormous eating space - plenty of space for stroller Meh: - parking is no bueno - needs an overhaul of decor I met up a couple of friends for lunch time around noon. There was about 4 spots out front. During dinner time and the weekends good luck with the parking. Since one of my friends knows the owner, service was fairly quick. It's a Cambodian restaurant with traditional Cambodian dishes, but there are also lots of Chinese dishes as well. My fave dish to order at any real Cambodian spot is the lemongrass beef. The flavor was spot on, but the quality of the meat was so so and some of the pieces a bit chewy. A surprise to me though was the beef bone soup. AMAZING! Tastes just like mom used to make, so it brought back some really good memories. As i mentioned before, my friend knows the owner so i didn't get to see a menu with prices, but for 3 of us was about $60-70 for 6 dishes. Come give this place a try when you're in the area. Happy eating!
Nice place for a big event like a wedding. Food is good too. Menu has a pictures of all their dishes. So you know what your getting. Service is nice. Bathroom is a bit tight which is odd being that its a Big restaurant that holds events. Parking is in front with a guard and there is more parking around the back too. We came here a few times. The only down side on our last visit is that dont serve side of broth like most Cambodian restaurants do, in the evenings. Its ok though, we know now.
I came here for lunch with my mom and this truly is a Hidden Gem for authentic quality Asian food. They have a variety of dishes and cuisine that is all very delicious. We ordered the catfish and French style beef. We wanted to come back with our family so we can try much more, the service was fast and the food came out fresh. You could tell they are a staple for the community. Anytime of the day you will find people here and for a good reason. The food is amazing
Really delicious, price is very fair. Just know they give hefty portions
It was good to experience a Cambodian restaurant in Long Beach. We came for a wedding where they hosted the meals for the day. I was able to enjoy some classic dishes like the sour beef soup (salaw machuu) and quail. They do have a good assortment of food items and pretty much something for everyone. The people working here were friendly and accommodating.
So, dining a few times with my family is a fine experience. They have a major variety of dishes to choose from and most of their prices vary. Their customer service is also excellent, especially on the weekdays in the morning time. Now the food itself looks really nice and has a nice broth taste, however it is lacking a bit of seasoning. The wait can also become long, from 5-20 mins, but overall, it is a fine restaurant to eat with your friends and/or family.
Beef stew was pretty good! Would order again. They were skimping on the soup though... The bowl wasn't even half full. Extra tendon for a dollar extra was nice. I honestly think they forgot to spoon me some soup, just the meat sauce. Live music was a nice touch. Made the experience for me and my friends.
